If the idea of working on a unique historical programme and playing a meaningful Product Group Manager role in the story of our capital city sounds like the kind of challenge you would relish, come and be part of our structure for success.
The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme is set to be the UK's biggest and most complex ever renovation programme. Indeed, significant work is needed to protect and preserve this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site and ensure it can continue to serve as the home of the UK Parliament in the 21st Century. Accordingly, we're looking for people with product management expertise and a real desire to help shape our future - and improve our current capabilities - to take on this brand new role within our Data and Digital department.
Managing the coordination of multiple product roadmaps and ensuring customer/business need, strategic alignment, delivery to agreed scope, feature and reuse innovation are managed throughout the product lifecycle - these are the challenges that await you here. Indeed, you'll be responsible for leading and implementing the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition across the end-to-end life cycle for a group of products that includes HR Systems, Financial Systems, Procurement Systems, Legal, Engagement and Requirements Systems (CRM).
We'll also rely on you to create and own the vision for the product group by using your expert understanding of user needs in parallel with the Sponsor/business service owner's vision and in collaboration with the Business Relationship Management and Enterprise Architecture teams.
And, when it comes to leading a diverse, cross functional team of Project Managers, Product Owners and Developers, including providing line and matrix management where relevant, as well as coaching and support, again, we'll count on you.
To succeed, you'll need demonstrable experience of applying product management methodologies or having driven product improvement and client impacting projects. You'll also need a good understanding of the drivers of value in your specific product area, including the ability to size and prioritise initiatives across business units and functions. A genuine passion for delivering change through people and technology, and for evolving great digital products is essential too. Someone who's able to communicate in a compelling manner at all levels of management and across all functional areas, experience of direct and matrix management would also be useful.
We are committed to promoting diversity and to equal opportunities in employment. We are building diverse teams and seek to attract and retain talented individuals from a range of backgrounds and cultures to join us on this hugely challenging and important project.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer 30 days annual leave, a generous pension, discretionary bonus scheme, life assurance and payment of professional membership.
Please apply by submitting a CV and cover letter stating your current salary and benefits, your suitability for the role and if you believe you have any current or potential conflicts of interest relating to this
