This opportunity is to join our Special Vehicle Operations team, this team showcases the very best of Jaguar Land Rover with a range of exclusive SV-badged halo models, limited-run collectors' editions and uniquely engineered projects.?
This is a great opportunity for a Structural Engineer who is looking for an opportunity for progression into a Subject Matter Expert position within Jaguar Land Rover. In this role you will be involved in the technical design of structural accessories, including first principles design and validation of mechatronic systems.
You will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop commodity strategies based on self-sought automotive technical advances. The commodities you will be working on will include but not limited to; towing systems, side steps, undershield protection, and winches.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
As a Structural Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover a strong foundational knowledge of structural engineering will be essential as well as a strong understanding of engineering principles. You do not need to be an expert yet but a passion for developing into a specialist in your field will set you apart from rest.
This role will be very collaborative and you will work with engineers across our Special Vehicles team so an ability to explain technical issues and resolutions to people outside your specialty will be seen as beneficial in the role. You should be a self starter and thrive on learning new technologies, identifying new materials and offering advice to the team in your focus area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
* Experience of successful design validation through physical testing
* Coordination of multifunctional teams
* Experience of delivering and developing technical systems
* Sound first principles knowledge of mechanical systems
Desirable:
* Knowledge of automotive bolt on commodities and interactions
* Understanding of automotive mechatronic systems
* Knowledge of JLR Engineering release processes and change management systems
* Project management experience
