About us

More than just an ordinary local authority, the City of London Corporation is the governing body of the Square Mile, a global business hub. Our traditions may be centuries-old, but our business practices are cutting edge and that includes our approach to technology and innovation.

We want to ensure that the Financial and Professional Services (FPS) sector, so integral to both the City of London and the wider UK economy, can make rapid, responsible and effective use of technical innovation. As the dividing lines between financial and professional services, fintech and broader tech become more blurred, it's important for different sectors to collaborate and drive progress. The City Corporation is playing a leading role to nurture and scale tech-driven solutions that will shape the future of the FPS sector and impact customers and communities across the UK and beyond.

The role

Taking the lead on FPS innovation projects across areas such as fintech, lawtech or cyber, you will work with representatives from FPS and beyond to nurture an ecosystem of innovation. Operating strategically, you will drive collaboration, accelerate product development and facilitate the integration of tech solutions into organisations. You will also carry out wider research, engagement and policy development. It's a critical role, influencing and negotiating at a senior level across business, government and regulators to place the UK at the centre of FPS innovation.

About you

With experience of policy, research and strategy development, ideally relating to the technology sector, you'll be used to developing and delivering projects using recognised project management tools.  An understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with technology adoption across FPS is essential. You'll be used to developing and delivering complex or large-scale projects and successfully collaborating with partners to deliver against shared objectives. Your excellent research and analytical skills will be matched by experience in writing and presenting high-quality reports and briefings on complex policy issues. You'll also be competent at establishing and maintaining high-level business relationships.

Closing date 12 Noon on 6 June 2022.
