The DBS Automation Garage team works with teams throughout DBS and wider Ministry of Defence to digitise DBS Services and end to end processes wherever possible, with Digital Workers augmenting the current DBS workforce. The Automation Garage delivers solutions through Robotic Process Automation and Power App solutions; and is looking to deliver new capabilities such as Chatbots and Machine learning.

As a Power Apps developer in the Defence Business Services (DBS) Automation Garage (AG) you will be expected to work collaboratively in a small, agile scrum team to take a Discovery Document created by the Business Analyst, and create the application, seeing it through development testing, user acceptance testing, and supporting the live running applications.
About you
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and unit test end-to-end digital solutions in line with best practices, and Automation Garage standards;
Collaborate with team members to continually improve the knowledge within the team;
Embrace agile practices to deliver processes efficiently and effectively whilst continuing to learn lessons and improve the workings of the Automation Garage;
Support the launch and implementation of Power Apps solutions;
Provide estimates for the development and testing of new processes and/or forms;
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across DBS to provide regular updates on progress, delivering Show and Tell demonstrations on development progress, addressing any concerns or issues;
Investigate and analyse issues with a view to resolving and improving the service;
Review and provide constructive feedback on other developer's code;
Mentor colleagues through the Power Apps training, providing advice and guidance on best practice and development techniques;
Complete self-learning and up-skilling in PowerApps, and other related technologies to improve oneself and the team as a whole;
Be an advocate of Automation and the Automation Garage, delivering Show and Tell demonstrations to Key Stakeholders;
Management of Junior Developers, assigning work and monitoring their progress.
