Many of our clients are sector leaders on sustainability and supply chain issues and we are proud of our reputation for leading the thinking in this area. Our Sustainability Tool is now used in some of the most high-profile construction and infrastructure projects in the UK. Our clients implement the Sustainability Tool to manage the ESG performance on their projects, in their supply chains and internal operations. The Python Django Developer Role: The role will be hands-on in design and architecture, writing and maintenance of code and infrastructure for the reporting system. The application is web-based and uses a stack of React Javascript frontend interacting with a backend API built with Python/Django. We work heavily with Docker and Docker orchestration (Swarm or Kubernetes) for development, build, testing and deployment of code through automated CI/CD pipelines. The Tool, which you will be supporting, helps our clients to efficiently collect sustainability data from their business divisions, project teams and supply chain organisations. The information is crunched to produce sustainability dashboards with key performance indicators measured against our client targets. By using our platform, organisations can now ensure their teams and supply chain partners comply with their environmental and socio-economic standards. This is driving transparency and accountability to better deliver on sustainability strategies. The hired candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a senior back-end developer and data science lead. About You: + Full stack development using primarily React Javascript for frontend application and Python Django 3.x for backend
+ React Javascript (ES6) Single Page Application designing and development
+ User interface (UI) designing
+ Automated testing of frontend application
+ Python 3.x and Django 3.x (especially the Django Rest Framework and Django ORM) for backend server-side services and APIs
+ Python Celery for asynchronous task management
+ Docker and Containerisation
+ Amazon Web Services: primarily EC2, S3, SES, EFS, Route53
+ CI/CD pipelines (currently Jenkins but may change) for automated build to docker images and deployment
+ Git and code management to write, review and manage pull-requests, mergers Desirable Skills: + SQL Database management (PostgreSQL) - schemas, writing migrations (via Python ORM), and other such database tasks
+ Ability to learn and develop API clients in other languages and frameworks such as:
++ Office Javascript API
++ Jupyter Notebook
+ JIRA and general project and time management Benefits: + Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
+ Bonuses: Up to £1,000 per year related to performance as outlined in your yearly objectives; and an annual performance-related bonus scheme across the business, which could amount to a sum in the region of £2,000 per year
+ Holidays: 25 days plus 8 statutory holidays plus 1 day for birthday
