The Service Management function is accountable for the overall design and delivery of IT services to MED IS, which currently includes the following operational service functions:

*Access Management

*Availability Management

*Change Management

*Incident Management

*ITIL Release Management

*Security Management

*Service Continuity Management

*Continual Service Improvement

Previous work in a government/defence environment as well as NHS experience is desirable.

Detailed responsibilities

*Design, implement, own, and manage CORTISONE IT Service Management and Availability Management Processes

*Own and maintain the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Process and Plan

*Identify & prosecute opportunities for improvement to efficiency & effectiveness of the Service

*Test the IT recovery plans on an agreed schedule

*Provide leadership, and coordinate technical resources during DR or DR Tests

*Plan and maintain the DR test schedule, and execute DR tests in accord with your published Test Plans, Run sheets and Procedures, forming and leading a Recovery team comprised of technical resources drawn from partner service delivery personnel

*Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and deliver effective DR training to internal and client staff. Ensure that staff are aware of their exact duties and that all relevant information is readily available should a disaster occur

*Produce regular reports, and chair relevant meetings with stakeholders.

*Ensure execution of the Availability Management Process tasks in adherence with end user and business requirements

*Provide advice and guidance on the Availability Management Process and ensure use of and compliance with it

*Manage the interfaces with all relevant Processes and Procedures

*Govern the proactive management of Availability

*Ensure Business Availability requirements are understood and included in any Service Design

*Ensure collation of Availability monitoring metrics required for monthly Availability Reports

*Ensure correct Availability measures and targets are present in SLAs

*Ensure that agreed tooling and monitoring is in place and working

*Ensure Availability is monitored, measured, analysed and reported as per the SLAs

*Review regular Availability Reports against the Availability Plan

*Ensure Availability risks and issues are fully understood by those that need to and appropriate action is justified and taken

*Review Availability information and work with the Technical Experts to make recommendations for improvements and update the Availability Plan with any agreed improvements

*Initiate and govern the proactive Availability Management tasks to be carried out by the Technical Experts

*Provide the tools to proactively manage the Availability of the services being provided

*Interface at the operational level with teams such as the Incident, Problem, Capacity, Change and Technical Teams

*Ensure Availability Management criteria have been fulfilled prior to accepting new services into operation

*Ensure that Availability Management Process KPIs are reported on and agreed targets met

*Attend regular review meetings with Service Managers and Technical Experts

*Take all the inputs from the reports, tools and data as well as any information provided following a proactive activity to update and manage an Availability Plan with recommendations or suggestions for ways to improve/maintain the Availability of Services
