The FinOps Analyst serves as a member of the Cloud Operations team within the Global Operations organization. This role has responsibilities across multiple areas related to AWS and Microsoft Azure public cloud financial operations (FinOps) and will work with teams such as Sales, Product Management, Account Management, Operations Management, and Finance. The FinOps Analyst will have high visibility to customers and will support customer financial/billing related topics both internally and externally. The position will also work with Sales Team to track and apply credits and credit memos for deals. Finally, they will also work with the Finance department to ensure all credits are being properly accounted for, including, but not limited to tracking of rebates, refunds, cash payments, and marketing development funds.

Responsibilities:

* Partner with Customer Operations:

o Support account management team business reviews to provide data and financial analysis of impact of capacity reservations/ savings plan /right-sizing

o Develop financial analysis of impact of capacity reservations and savings plans for customers

o Attend meetings with customers to explain mechanics and benefits of reservations, credit, and other financial/billing related topics as it pertains to AWS and Azure

o Serve as the go-to resource to answer customer inquiries and billing disputes

o Provide guidance and information to internal teams regarding customer billing, right-sizing, and overall account recommendations

o 25% client facing, 75% internal team support

* Partner with Internal Operations:

o Assist with evaluation and ongoing maintenance of credits, reservations, and savings plan to help optimize internal consumption of AWS and Azure workloads

o Analyze, test, and support internal initiatives, projects, and products designed to enhance company tools and capabilities

* Partner with the Financial Department:

o Serve as additional SME (external to the Finance department) in all billing and finance related topics for AWS and Azure

o Work on special projects, billing disputes, and deep-level analysis as required

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required

* Experience working in the infrastructure/hosting space, including prior experience with Public Cloud billing/financial analysis

* Strong finance background/ acumen and deep experience building Excel spreadsheet models

* High-level technical knowledge of Public Cloud services and tools, plus AWS Cloud Practitioner/Azure AZ900 certs or willing to obtain within first 6 months

* Solid experience using Tableau or other business analytics platforms

* Effective user of internal and external resources (SEs, execs, SMEs, integrated partners, etc.)

* Excellent listening, writing, communication, and presentation skills

* Sense of urgency and strong work ethic, self-motivated, and reliable

* Comfortable working independently, as well as part of a team, as a situation requires

* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
