It's not just rhetoric - ask our staff.The role and what we're looking for:We have an oportunity to join our Web Applications team which is responsible for the operation and the development of core and critical software systems that enable .UK and our other registries. As Full Stack Web Developer you will have a vital role within the Web Applications team, building cutting-edge and robust web applications utilised by millions of users. Joining a close-knit and supportive team, you will also have the opportunity to work on large technical transformation programmesLead requirements capture, analysis, design, implementation and production release of complex bespoke changesBuild front end applications using Javascript and backend APIs using Java.Confidently manage unknowns and provide clarity for other members of the teamManage expectations throughout development with key stakeholdersTake ownership of the operation and development of certain software components and business functions ensuring a high quality service that meets business requirementsUse strong communication skills to manage software releases in co-operation with other technical teamsManipulate data, diagnose and fix newly encountered production issuesDevelop and deliver documentation that will help others through the development process.Mentor more junior members of the team particularly in front end development. Who are you?The ideal candidate will be an expert in front end web development with capability in Java API implementation with:Expertise in Javascript and corresponding frameworks (Angular)Ideally expertise in API building using Java but not requiredExperience of unit and integration testing, automated build and testingKnowledge of source code control systems (Git)Code profilers, checkers and optimisersAn ability to produce documentation that is well-structured and well-written.Awareness of the requirement for on-going security and to apply it as appropriateAble to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues Any knowledge of the following is highly desirable:
