The Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS)  Team is looking for a Principal Cloud Architect to join the team, they are the trusted team for digital across the entire Defra Group.

The Principal Cloud Architect is the technical authority for cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, M365, Dynamics, AAD plus other SaaS & PaaS services) and will work with the Head of function, as well as the various Principal and Lead architects, to ensure projects and programmes align with Defra's emerging Enterprise Architecture and its strategic direction. The Principal Cloud Architect will work on projects and programmes of all scales to support delivery of end-to-end architectures, and implement designs based on requirements, strategic drivers, best practice, and guidance.

The Principal Cloud Architect has the primary responsibility for ensuring that designed solutions are fit for purpose and are aligned to Defra's strategic direction.

Who you are:

Experienced at designing and assuring cloud architectures in support of IT programmes and projects.

Knowledgeable and has experience with at least two public cloud solutions coupled with a broad understanding of the range of technologies available.

developing people, to build and establish teams of expertise that deliver value for money and excellent customer service.

Comfortable learning new technologies and keeping up to date with industry best-practice.

Able to demonstrate the ability to arbitrate in difficult situations and offer technical architectural support.
