Linux Administrator - 6 Month Contract

International Banking Group - EC2Y / Moorgate

4 Days Remote / 1 Day Office per Week

Initial 6 Month Contract

to £652.03pd Umbrella Rate (Inside IR35)

As an award-winning and preferred recruitment partner to one of the world's most trusted banking groups for more than ten years, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a contract Linux Administrator to join an existing team of six that look after the day-to-day operations side (Project and BAU) of the Linux Estate (approximately 1000 Linux boxes - predominantly RHEL 7, moving to RHEL 8).

This position is primarily project based; however, you should also be happy to partake in some BAU work as/when required. You will also be expected to join the out of hours on-call rota. This role usually requires one day per week spent in the office, or less.

Responsibilities / Experience Required

-Linux Red Hat (RHEL 7, moving to RHEL 8) and Red Hat Satellite

-Executing Ansible Automations, Creating Ansible Runbooks, Ansible Tower/AWX

-Day-to-Day Operations Project Work (e.g., Building/Decommissioning Servers, Rolling out Agents)

-Providing BAU L1-L3 Support - ITIL Knowledge and Ticket Management Experience

-Automation Mentality - Challenging and Improving Efficiencies, Automation Scripting

-Partaking in On-Call Rota (inc. Weekend Work) - usually 1 week in 6

-Solaris experience beneficial but not essential (makes up a very small portion of estate)

Inside IR35 (PAYE Umbrella): This contract is offered on a PAYE basis (via an umbrella company). The day rate is budgeted up to £652.03pd and this is the total amount we would pay your nominated umbrella. It is inclusive of holiday accrual and employer pension contributions. All statutory deductions (both Employers and Employee NI, Income Tax, Apprenticeship Levy, etc.) will be deducted from this figure.

Hybrid/Remote Working: Our client has a hybrid working model. You will be expected to spend one day a week on-site in their London EMEA HQ near Moorgate Tube. The remainder can be spent working remotely from home. There may be greater flexibility if required.

Working Hours / On-Call: Usual shifts vary between 8-4 and 10-6. When on-call (usually one week in six) you will cover the hours from 8pm until 8am weekdays, and all hours on the weekend.
