Power BI Lead - Permanent - Remote - $150kPower BI Lead will design, build and maintain custom solutions and products, leveraging the company's vast data assets. Reporting to the Director, BI Engineering, you will be responsible for Power BI Development, working closely with other internal and external business and technology teams, including client service, product, business analytics, operations, research science, and IT infrastructure to achieve desired team objectives. You should have experience working with reporting and dashboarding in Power BI, databases, data analysis languages, and documentation, and someone who enjoys architecting and delivering thoughtful business intelligence solutions which support data-driven decision making. You are also extremely detail-oriented and skilled at interrogating disparate and diverse data sets. You will work closely with the Next Gen leadership team and drive operational efficiency of field activities. Design, Develop Power BI Apps, dashboards, dataflows, data models, and validate enterprise reporting, queries, extracts, and visualizations. Utilize Azure tools and data systems to create performant data models. Create governance standards and best practices for Power BI.Aid and train users on Power BI, techniques, and standards, and grow the skills of other team members. Work on developing components of a Center of Excellence.Collect, communicate, and validate requirements with stakeholders. Create, design, and format technical specification documentation.Analyze complex problems and exercise independent judgement to determine the best design of Power BI architecture, delivery, and processes to support scalable, maintainable, cost effective solutions with a superior user experience. Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities3+ years' experience with Power BI, 7+ years' experience in Business Intelligence.BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Technology; advanced degrees and/or certifications a plus.Strong understanding of the evolving landscape of technology and its effect on customers and data products and demonstrates a big-picture, long-range perspective.Understands client expectations and applies best practices to client solutions.Able to effectively evaluate alternative solutions and work across functions to implement.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and client service skills. Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior/executive management, clients, and peers.Able to organize projects to ensure strategic priorities and near-term operational priorities are met.Can effectively lead group meetings, encouraging the sharing of ideas and focusing on results.Good understanding about data warehousing practices. Technical SkillsExpert development skills in Power BI, and experience using additional tools from the Power Platform.Demonstrated proficiency building measures and metrics, defining custom dimensions, creating advanced UI/UX in Power BI reports, and tuning performance for a superior user experience.Experience with data analytics, forecasting, simulations, and predictive modeling, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.Experience architecting integrated BI systems.Extensive experience in Azure data and analysis products such as Synapse, Databricks and ADLS.Experienced in Azure DevOps project development.Fluent in SQL, R, Python, Spark or similar required.Understanding of advanced Power BI concepts such as Direct Query Hybrid models, Azure ML integration, integration of Python or R, Segmentation and Cohort analysis, and others.Advanced Excel and Microsoft Skills.In-depth understanding of database structure principles required, and understanding of semi-structured, HDFS, and semantic structures preferred.Highly capable with data loss prevention techniques, including data federation, suppression, and masking; and experience with cyber security.Expert in designing automation utilizing tools or languages such as Power BI scheduling, PowerAutomate, Azure Data Factory, Selenium, java, bash or other scripting languages.
