We are looking for a Digital Test Design Engineer to join Airbus Defence & Space in Stevenage working within the Digital Product Validation team. This team is responsible for the architecture/design of test systems that verify and validate the operation and performance of various digital products that we design and build. These test systems rely heavily on application software development to control and configure the digital product and also to optimise the process of validation/verification testing in a robust and repeatable manner. You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check). Tasks & Accountabilities - Working within engineering teams to design, build and implement solutions to the problems faced in the CPG team, demonstrating good planning, technical excellence and communication skills to ensure that schedules and cost budgets are maintained - Understanding and carrying out complex technical tasks whilst working towards solid design requirements in order to produce world-leading products and systems - Generate progress reports that show how each task is evolving, and demonstrate your ability to communicate this to a range of technical and non-technical colleagues/customers - Be involved in, and eventually lead, engineering tasks such as system design, test engineering, software architecture and software development/debug - Produce detailed technical documents to accompany engineering designs, suitable for delivery to the end customer of the product/system - This role may involve some travel to other UK Airbus D&S sites. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. Skills & Experience - At minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines of Engineering
- Experience of applying practical engineering skills for technical problem solving
- Experience of software design, ideally applying to real-world applications (e.g. automation/control of test and measurement instruments or embedded software applications)
- Experience of digital design (circuit and PCB design, VHDL, FPGA) and/or analogue design (e.g. Transistor circuits) would be advantageous
- Experience of RF test and measurement techniques (spectrum analysis, phase noise, insertion loss, gain/phase ripple, etc.) What Airbus Can Offer You - A competitive salary with annual profit share
