A leading financial services corporation that improves the lives of UK customers is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Manager who is able to provide technical leadership and has proven managerial capabilities. The ideal applicant would have experienced an Enterprise Cloud Migration and able to understand / resolve the technical challenges involved within a complex IT operations department.
The Infrastructure & Cloud Manager will lead and ensure successful delivery through the definition, design, implementation and go-live stages of the project. Responsible for the design, document, building and maintaining secure on premise and cloud infrastructure. You will organise and monitor software and configuration changes.
Reporting to the Group Head of Infrastructure Operations, you will be providing a hands-on technical and management focus for internal clients and teams covering a Windows-based environment and overseeing both the Infrastructure and Support Teams.
Core responsibilities:
Ownership of all operational on-premise, public cloud (services covering Iaas, PaaS)
Assist the Service Delivery Manager in major incidents processes.
Identify opportunities for business process optimisation and reducing cost of BAU
Accountable for a team of engineers ensuring any escalated issues are resolved and documented
Responsible for leading the cloud migration of existing on-premise solutions
An escalation point for all infrastructure systems, identify bottlenecks and implement remedies.
Ensure Cloud systems maintain compliance with internal, external and client accreditation obligations
Configuration, administration, installation and upgrading infrastructure
Responsible for ensuring the configuration, release and performance management of all cloud systems
Partnering with the Cloud Service Delivery Manager to develop automation tools across Public and Private cloud solutions
Core technical responsibilities:
Essential:
5+ years' proven operational experience working in a similar role.
5+ years' hands-on knowledge of Azure/AWS and IaaS and PaaS service.
M365 knowledge experience in adopting and deploying the features available.
Experience in managing hybrid infrastructure environments, consisting of on premise and public cloud; PaaS, SaaS, IaaS services.
Strong technical background including storage, systems administration along with the ability to recommend technical solutions to business needs.
Experience with infrastructure and staff capacity forecasting.
Desirable:
Experience in working alongside software development teams following a DevOps approach.
Background in networking, telephony and databases.
Automation techniques such as terraform
