I'm currently working with a client who is looking for a Senior Commissioning Manager, they're ideally looking for someone who has previously held a similar role, with an excellent understanding of the long term condition agenda and will have significant experience of successful project delivery, including service or process redesign.

Some of the main duties include:

The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service;

The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery;

Specific tasks for the Senior Commissioning Manager will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing subject matters expertise and liaising with the Strategic Clinical Conditions and Pathways Team
  • Supporting the Head of Service in the implementation of strategy
  • Playing a pivotal role in the identification, implementation and resourcing of projects for the delivery of QIPP
  • Co-ordinating delivery of QIPP through relevant workstreams and commissioning managers
  • Co-ordinating delivery and fulfil PMO needs of organisation and STP
  • Ensuring appropriate resourcing and support is available for the operation of the team
  • Attending and chair necessary clinical improvement meetings, resourcing appropriate clinicians to support or lead project work
  • Deputising for the Head of Strategic Clinical Conditions and Pathways Team
  • Supporting and co-chairing all relevant workstream
  • Providing appropriate reports and updates as required for both operational and transformational meetings
  • Developing and assisting in the delivery of financial and activity dashboards to support existing and new opportunities
  • Leading the review of services where necessary and ensure that the services delivered are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the population
  • Engendering matrix working across the team and with other teams within the CCG
  • Working across the Strategic Clinical Conditions and Pathways Team portfolio to align workloads of the team and ensure key projects are prioritised.
