Managing Director Construction

Gloucestershire (requirement to travel to sites as appropriate)

£70,000 - £130,000 + Car Allowance

Are you an experienced Director within the Construction industry? Are you a dynamic and strategic thinker? Have you got a previous track record of managing, leading and developing a team?

I have an exciting opportunity on offer to join an established and expanding Construction company that gives the chance to manage a variety of different projects within the Residential and Commercial sector.

This well-established company prides itself on its exceptional service and through innovation and customer satisfaction they have amassed a large and varied clientele that has left them unaffected by the current pandemic. Due to retirement they now require a Manager Director to provide their excellent man management, commercial awareness and expertise in their discipline to help add to the future successes of the business and ultimately help drive the company forwards.

The main purpose of this role is to help assist and contribute to the increase of the company's turnover and profits by joining a managing a highly focused team.

Knowledge of the Residential or Commercial industry is desirable but the company will look at any one who has a good solid construction background. The main attributes the company are seeking is someone who can help develop and lead a team and someone who has good commercial awareness (understands profits and loss).

In this autonomous role you will add your expertise to many different responsibilities within the company. In this role you will lead each sector of the company, joining a board of 4 Directors discussing and reporting any changes in the business. The Company employees around 100 people with the Project Managers reporting directly to you. This means strong knowledge in all phases of Construction and Costs is essential. The role will require you to run multiple projects at one time and you will ultimately make sure that projects are completed successfully, on time and within budget.

The role of the Managing Director will involve:Overseeing to 6-8 Projects at a time ranging from £250K-£10MReporting to the boardLeading the Pre Construction & Construction Department - teams report to yourselfWorking to deadlines/budgets to ensure work is completed successfullyAssist and contribute to the increase of the companies turnover and profits

About you:

We are looking for someone with the below skills & experience:Director with extensive experience in constructionMust have great man management, client liaison, work ethic and commercial awarenessGood construction background - Residential/ Commercial knowledge a bonusProven track record of managing and leading a team
