Database Administrator

Home based - Remote with some occasional travel

Salary £50-60K plus excellent benefits (inc. pension scheme, life insurance, private health care, dental health care, corporation discounts and more)

A leading UK law firm with an impressive list of household name commercial clients are looking to recruit a Database Administrator (DBA) to join the expanding team. Employees are able to do a mixture of both remote working and office based work in Northampton. With a turnover of over £150m and holding the "Platinum Standard" Investors in People award, our client has an excellent reputation within the legal field.

The main purpose of the DBA role is to administer and manage the company database systems, ensuring that the reliability and integrity of these systems falls within the targeted uptime. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the integrity of the databases are maintained and that business continuity procedures are in place to recover systems in the event of a failure.

Key skills (PLEASE NOTE not all essential):

*5 or more years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server

*IT operation experience with strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles and practices

*Understanding of server-client computing and relational database environments

*Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices

*SQL Server 2000 to 2019

*Database Administration / Tuning / Management / Security / Reporting

*Progress database management / administration useful

*Understanding of SCOM monitoring useful

*Knowledge of SQL instances for SAP useful

*Degree level or 5 years' experience in similar role

*Knowledge of Legal IT systems / experience in a law firm, LLP, professional services firm or other service sector industry

*Microsoft DBA accreditation or experience of ITIL best practice together with ITIL certification beneficial

Travel to other UK offices will be necessary on occasions and ability to work flexible or extended hours to complete some tasks outside of core business hours of 08:00 to 18:00 may be required.
