Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Your main day-to-day responsibilities will be:
*Collaborate with other disciplines such as architecture and security to analyse and understand the operating model that supports the service of data.
*Develop relationships with subject matter experts, programme owners and other stakeholders.
*Identify opportunities to improve services and user journeys by simplifying complex experiences and improving content for service users.
*Support stakeholders and other colleagues in visualising and communicating the strategy and design of the DataBank project, what is required to deliver it, and informing future direction. This involves:
oCreating diagrams to make complex concepts easier to understand and share, including maps, blueprints, journeys, scenarios or storyboards
oIdentify and enable other roles to help document existing processes
oWorking with and supporting multidisciplinary teams to help them successfully design good services
oSupporting the development of the end-to-end design for the DataBank project, aligning with strategy to inform and support the delivery of improved service outcomes, in response to user and business needs
oHelping to bring together insight and evidence from a variety of sources such as user research, operational insight and organisational intent to inform and inspire the development of service
oCollaborating with service designers to encourage reflection, share experiences and good practice, and offer critique and feedback.
*Identify parts of a service (anything from front to back) which could be re-used from one service to another. Help design and share these as components, patterns and standards.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
*GDS Experience
*Agile working: You have experience of working in agile environments and can advise colleagues on how and why agile methods are used.
*Communication skills: You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them in a way that is clear for both audiences. You know how to manage stakeholder expectations and can facilitate difficult discussions.
*Evidence- and context-based service design: You can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to understand and articulate service designs.
*Experience of working within constraints: You can identify, challenge and communicate constraints to a variety of stakeholders to ensure standards are met.
*Facilitating decisions and risks: You can generate multiple solutions to a problem and test them.
*Strategic thinking: You know how to evaluate current strategies and policies, proposing new ones where needed, to ensure business requirements are being met and exceeded where possible.
*User focus: You can champion user research to focus on all users, and can prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so.
