Job DescriptionGCP DevOps Engineer for a global consultancy working with a tier 1 bank. This is a year long contract working for a tier 1 bank - this oppourtunity will look amazing on anyones CV and so this is an oppourtunity not to be missed!! Role & ResponsibilitiesBecome a trusted advisor to customers by having a thorough understanding of their technical challenges and the relevant GCP technologies, patterns and practices to address them.Design highly available, cloud native platforms.Advise customers on modern software and architecture techniques such as 12 factor, microservices and serverlessDevelop internal tooling for the wider Platform Team, that can help us to do more, and be more effectiveWork with customers and our Pre-sales Team to translate requirements into technical designs and follow this through to delivery of the solutionWork with the clients Architecture Team to support the development of Go-To-Market strategiesKeep abreast of technology developments ensuring the clients business remains ahead of the technology curve.Represent client externally with Google and more widely in the market. We can shape this to your skills, e.g. technical writing, or presenting at events, etc.

Skills & QualificationsExtensive hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure).Extensive hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a production setting.Proven experience in a cloud focused delivery role (DevOps or Software Development).You're proactive and you like to solve problems. You want to get involved and make things happen, ensuring the best outcomes for your team, the business and our customers.Previous experience in a consultancy or professional services role.Solid knowledge of cloud architecture principles and highly available systemsUnderstanding of application development, delivery and infrastructure automation.Comfortable writing production software in at least one general-purpose programming language (Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, C++).
