12 months + extension

Introduction

The Programme is delivering a highly secure ICT system that will transform IT service delivery across defence. It will deliver a 21st Century ICT service that will transition legacy IT stacks into agile architectures suitable for developing and hosting modern applications and digital services. This will be achieved through a number of projects.

The Programme requires a Service Manager to work as part of a design team who has first-hand experience in delivering ICT capability that is fit for operational use. They will work with the User Community, Programme Teams and Suppliers to ensure the capacity and availability of the solution meets current and future business requirements.

The role will comprise of two key phases:

1.Development to ensure that proposed solutions meet the capacity and availability requirements;

2.Live Service to review actual and forecast capacity to identify issues and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities and Tasks for the duration of this contract

The key requirements for this contract include:

*Establish and maintain a Capacity and Availability Management Strategy;

*Identify appropriate resource to manage availability as required;

*Monitor, analyse and report of future demand;

*Provide capacity service system performance and service availability performance;

*Identify corrective actions to maintain appropriate capacity and availability;

*Working with supplier teams to identify root cause of issues;

*Review and assure supplier design to ensure capacity and availability has been considered;

*Capacity and availability modelling;

*Support impacting requests for change to determine impact on capacity and availability;

Skills and experience:

*Experience of working in highly secure environment (primarily office based);

*Experience of complex enterprise solutions;

*Experience of working in an agile environment;

*Experience of cloud architecture;

*Experience of process management;

*ITIL v3 or v4 (Practitioner or above beneficial).
