This Azure Engineering Lead role sits within a 170-strong digital function focused on laying the foundation for our transition into a digital regulator that will oversee a very different energy sector in the future. Your focus will be on a multi-disciplinary team that delivers end-to-end cloud based solutions and services, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

You'll translate logical designs into cloud structures, set clear objectives and milestones, and collaborate across Ofgem to manage interdependencies, risks and resourcing. More generally, we'll look for you to provide incisive technical advice, ensure documentation is up to standard, and develop and grow your team's capabilities.

A respected authority on infrastructure solutions, you'll have experience of leading infrastructure as a service (IaaS) teams, and enjoy the challenge of moving data - and the people that use them - into the cloud.

Whether your background is in computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS or open source packages and solutions; you'll bring a flair for process and financial optimisation and automation - always with an eye on KPIs.

Ofgem relies on having a workforce that reflects the society we serve, so we welcome candidates from all backgrounds, and especially those from underrepresented groups. While this is a full-time role, flexible working patterns and job shares are welcome. We will also support you with excellent training and development opportunities, plus a competitive benefits package.

With a competitive benefits package that includes access to a generous pension scheme, you will have the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment. We are committed to being representative of the population that we serve, so we welcome candidates from all backgrounds, and especially individuals from underrepresented groups. While this is a full-time role, flexible working patterns and job shares are welcome, and you will have the chance to adopt a hybrid working model.
