As a trusted and preferred recruitment partner to this leading global provider of cloud-based solutions to the global financial sector, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test. You will oversee testing resources on a highly focused team responsible for the delivery of leading edge React-based applications.

Already benefiting from a dominance in the North American finance industry, our client is expanding it is London operations to better serve the UK and EU markets. This is an exciting time to join, and you will have the option to work from predominantly from home or within their state-of-the-art EMEA HQ in London.

Core Requirements

* Several years in Software Testing with some experience leading a small team

* Strong understanding of JavaScript and Java

* Strong understanding of Testing Practices in Agile Environments

* Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Cypress

* Experience with any of the following is an asset;

o Experience with contract testing (PACT preferable)

o Understanding of testing Library family of packages

o Understanding of Micro front end architectures

o Network principles and protocols such as HTTP, TLS and TCP

o Web services technology such as REST, JSON or Thrift

o Continuous Integration systems such as Jenkins or Bamboo

Role Overview:

Manage performance assessments and hiring for a small team of SDETs; Drive teams testing and automation strategies; Encourage the use of contract testing for both consumer and producer; Define and organise the teams test planning for releases; Design and coding of automation frameworks, tests and tools; Participate in team planning and story grooming; Participate in test execution, issue identification and resolution in support of the release; Propose and implement improvements to automation and test processes; Develop and maintain shared testing libraries; Provide training, mentorship and support to other members on the team; Conduct code reviews, improve and maintain quality of the automation code; Document the automation framework, tools and infrastructure.
