As a trusted recruitment partner of this household name, we have been tasked with the recruitment of an IT security analyst to join their head office IT operations team.

They are looking for a passionate cyber security professional to be responsible for the day-to-day management of security incidents/threats and operation of associated security tools, assessment of existing security controls and identifying gaps, implementation of security solutions, input to the security risk register and roadmap and helping to ensure they are progressed effectively.

Skills

*A working knowledge of various security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, intrusion prevention, anti-virus, vulnerability scanning, email security, and cloud security.

*The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong relationships with staff, suppliers, vendors and other individuals.

*Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and an ability to analyse complex technical information to identify patterns and trends.

*An ability to work under pressure, particularly when dealing with threats and at times of high demand.

*Time-management and organisational skills to manage a variety of tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

*A good knowledge of the security marketplace, products, and capabilities.

*Degree level, or extensive industry experience, in lieu of degree, will be considered

*2-3 years' experience in an IT Security or related role

*Relevant technical security qualifications

Role Overview

*Proactive monitoring and analysis of security event data.

*Investigate security alerts and provide incident response.

*Work with outsourced Security Operations Centre to ensure any identified risks are efficiently resolved or mitigated.

*Monitor and respond to reported "phishing" emails.

*Vulnerability scanning.

*Assess, validate and prepare firewall rules for implementation.

*Prepare and implement changes relating to security infrastructure.

*Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies.

*Influence system owners to adopt IT security requirements on established systems and on new deployments.

*Liaise with stakeholders in relation to IT security issues and provide future recommendations.

*Configure and troubleshoot endpoint and perimeter devices.

*Engage with stakeholders, development and support teams to provide direction, guidance and support on acceptable and balanced infrastructure solutions.

*Monitor identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorised system users.

*Generate reports and metrics for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.

*Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues.

*Provide advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails.

*Research emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.

*Document security incidents and assess damage caused.
