About Us

ACH is a social enterprise that provides a range of integration and support services for refugees. During the past ten years, we've grown from a small-scale housing organisation to a leading provider of integration, employment and housing services for refugees and newly arrived communities in the UK.

We are now looking for an IT Technician to join our team in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent, basis.

The Benefits

- Salary of £21,000 - £25,000 per annum
- Mobile phone and laptop
- Paid company sick leave
- Company pension after probation period
- Claimable expenses for any work-related travel

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional with excellent customer service skills to join our growing organisation.

We aim to empower refugees and migrants who reside in the UK to lead self-sufficient and ambitious lives. The work we carry out to achieve this would not be possible without your knowledge and experience, ensuring our IT networks are at their very best.

So, if you are ready to step into a role where your work will help us support refugees and migrants to build a better, brighter future, then apply today.

The Role

As an IT Technician, you will work with over 80 users to maintain and monitor IT systems, including remote working solutions, and resolve a range of technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Responding to first-line support, end-user software and hardware queries via email, phone or face-to-face, you will provide a friendly and professional service.

You will be responsible for Office 365 and SharePoint administration and provide excellent end-user support and training for hardware and software. You will also collaborate with the IT Manager to ensure operational security, maintenance and governance.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage new user setup and orientation
- Provide tier one and tier two support and troubleshooting
- Test, implement and deploy Exchange Online
- Implement and support security policies, such as data retention

About You

To be considered as an IT Technician, you will need:

- At least three years of IT experience
- Prior experience in a first or second-line technical product or service-focused support role
- Experience administering O365, Exchange, Azure Active Directory and SharePoint
- Experience supporting anti-spam filtering, logging and email tracking and transport rules
- Help desk experience and the ability to provide technical and end-user support
- General knowledge of networking such as IP, DNS and SMTP
- Strong customer service skills
- To hold an IT Degree and/or an IT A-Level
- A full, valid driving licence

Experience working in a housing background would be beneficial to your application, as would the ability to problem solve within a technical environment.

Other organisations may call this role 1st Line IT Support Technician, 1st Line IT Technician, Helpdesk Technician, Deskside Support Technician, Helpdesk Engineer, or IT Support Technician.
