Role description

The company is seeking a commercially driven, sales focused Business Intelligence & Analytics professional to join their fast-growing, innovative team.

This is a new business sales role where you will be selling BI and Analytics solutions and services in the context of the full range of services provided the companies consulting services. You will be selling into the mid-tier and corporate markets across several business sectors. You will assist in planning, developing, and implementing the strategy to grow data analytics consulting services and to define and meet sales budgets, plans, and targets within agreed timescales. The role is client-facing focusing on the sale, implementation, and support of Business Intelligence & Analytics products and services. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of design and construction of Business Intelligence solutions.

The data & analytics sales lead will be expected to:

  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and contacting prospects towards achieving agreed sales targets and business aims
  • Plan and manage personal business portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy
  • Develop and win new customers through appropriate engagement and ethical sales methods ensuring you optimise the quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction
  • Use company approved prospect contact activity tools and systems to provide up to date relevant information to the business
  • Align sales activity to support marketing initiatives and lead generation efforts
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries in a timely manner
  • Guide clients and prospects in their evaluation of Business Intelligence solutions providing information and demonstrations to help them assess fit for their business
  • Scope the implementation services required to help clients achieve their objectives
  • Create high quality, client facing document outputs
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities
  • Communicate and negotiate internally and externally at all organisation levels to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable ongoing relationships
  • Attend and present at external(virtual) customer meetings and internal meetings with other departments to aid business development
  • Attend appropriate training sessions at the company's request to develop knowledge, techniques, and skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (such as business, data analytics, computer science, or information systems)
  • Experience working on data and business intelligence projects
  • Experience in selling software and consulting services in a new business sales role
  • Proven track record of selling to C level executives
  • Experience working in finance and/or professional services environments
  • Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to speak about technology in the language of business
  • Excellent client skills and customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and to work within a team environment to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management
  • Personable and committed
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
