Schroders Personal Wealth (SPW) combines over 400 years of expertise from two leading British companies - partnering to bring financial planning services to more people in the UK.
Schroders Personal Wealth combines Lloyds Banking Group's significant customer base, multi-channel distribution and digital capabilities with Schroders' investment and wealth management expertise and technology capabilities. The aim of SPW is to help clients build a better financial future by providing advice designed to look after their financial wellbeing.
Following its launch in 2019, SPW has made strong progress in establishing state-of-the-art infrastructure, migrating customers to its new platform, and reshaping the business for growth. Our focus has now shifted towards building scale to become a top 3 financial planning business by 2025 whilst evolving our proposition and business model to disrupt the wealth management industry.
To achieve this ambition, the Board and CEO have established a new flagship transformation programme, "Project Ploutos", with the intent of establishing a new partnerships channel alongside SPW's current core business, one which leads the industry in the use of technology and advanced data analytics to deliver personalised, omnichannel client wealth and financial planning experiences. In 2022 this will focus on building a bionic workplace proposition in partnership with a leading blue chip client, designing and delivering the components that will support further corporate rollouts as well as retail propositions.
The new business will need to have the potential to onboard high volumes of clients per year and to tap into younger, digital-native demographics as well as provide excellent service to wealth clients, all whilst leveraging the USPs that only SPW and its relationship with Lloyds Banking Group and Schroders Investment Management can deliver.
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Chief Transformation Officer, the Strategy Manager is charged with supporting the set up and evolution of the new partnerships channel through strategic and competitor analysis, proposition and operating model design, business development and commercial negotiations. The individual will become a trusted adviser to Ploutos leadership team, supporting them with strategy development and articulation to a broad range of internal stakeholders, prospects and existing clients.
Principal Responsibilities
Support Ploutos senior management in developing the vision and strategy for the Partnerships channel
Work with Product Owners to develop the associated proposition design, articulating the overall development and roll out roadmap
Develop and maintain the business case for the new channel, working with Finance to ensure the revenue expectations and cost estimates are robust
Experience:
Domain expertise
Good knowledge of the financial services and e-commerce sectors, wealth management experience useful but not essential
Good understanding of customer needs, behaviours and challenges with respect to money management and financial planning
Individual skills
Strong strategic thinker, able to take disparate and complex information, analyse and consolidate into a framework, series of options and recommendations
Strong analysis and financial modelling skills
Confident and enthusiastic collaborator - team player and individual contributor
Strong communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders up to Exco level as well as external clients and advisers
A strong sense of professional ethics and service commitment to the organisation and wider society
