SC UAT Test Lead - Outside IR35

We currently have a live requirement for a UAT tester working for a defence client. The role is outside IR35 and will be a mix of onsite and remote work. It requires an SC clearance as a minimum.

The role reports to the Test and Trials Test Managers. This is a delivery focussed, hands-on role that requires the ability to plan, prepare for and assure testing. Specific activities include, but are not limited to:

*Liaise with the suppliers in coordinating testing activities.

*Review and assurance of MSPs Test Strategy(s), Test Plan(s), Test Specification(s) and Test Script(s) as complete, appropriate and credible.

*The test lead will provide a recommendation into the test manager for approval of any testware and test activities which includes any risks identified

*The test lead will attend joint supplier/authority meetings and provide best practises and recommendations to the authority

*Witness and assurance of MSPs Test Execution in accordance with the test plans.

*Attend project boards to provide senior staff an update to the programme regarding testing

*Ensure that any supplier testing is co-ordinated through the Test and Trials team e.g. TRR checks, Dry Run etc…

*Supporting suppliers by creating Closed User Groups (CUGs) for testing new functionality

*Participate in the preparation and execution of Authority Integration testing activities including supporting defect management, creation of test scripts.

*Provide input into user guides from a SME perspective

*Be able to manage and prioritize between multiple projects running in concurrence

*Liaise with other relevant Test, Transition and Assurance SMEs.

*Resource would need to be on-site 3-4 days initially

Essential Skills

*Minimum of SC clearance

*ISEB/ISTQB certified

*Hands-on experience of supplier test assurance

*Good knowledge at management level of:

oTraditional techniques (waterfall, v model, Unit test, ST, UAT, Tech Test), risk-based testing

oCurrent Devops and agile processes (eg CI, TDD, Kanban, Scrum, SaFE etc)

*Experience testing tooling and business process change

*Experience producing test reports to inform programme and senior management decision making

*Experience with defect management

*Effective at managing risk to ensure delivery timelines are maintained

*Familiar with change and release management processes

*A customer facing self-starter with good time management and communication skills

*Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced multi-supplier environment

Desirable Skills

*Experience working within MoD/Govt/Defence

*Experience of using Group Policy for locking down and controlling OS platforms

*Knowledge of NCSC compliance of Windows 10

*Experience of JSP604

*ITIL Foundation

*Prince 2 Foundation
