Key to this is harnessing the power of data, both to create novel client experiences and to drive business decisions. The role will take the lead in reporting, interpreting finance data to create meaningful reports. This will require in-depth analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex, and often ambiguous, data sets and to define the relevant KPIs and metrics that bring the story to life. Naturally, a keen eye for presentation, with a flair for visualisations that are clear, unambiguous and actionable is core to the role too. Primarily, the role will focus on using data to support our shared service and commercial finance teams developing an operational framework to support performance, process and operational management as well as our corporate reporting framework. The role holder should expect to be an active member of the wider inter-departmental and international reporting community and to be a leader in driving our adoption of Microsoft's Power BI. This is a key role within our Finance Systems team integral in helping to deliver the finance transformation programme working closely with the Data Architects from the business systems team to ensure availability and integrity of data. This is a non-managerial role with no direct budget/cost centre or people management accountability.ProfileThe BI Developer is accountable for the interpretation of data and generation of timely, accurate and clear reports from them. As such, they must be technically proficient in the use of:· Microsoft Power BI to create end user reports.· Database development, including the use of T-SQL (Microsoft SQL server) to query underlying data.· Microsoft Power BI Administration with Row Level Security Additionally, the role holder must be able to demonstrate:· Exceptional analytical skills, with a track record of creating business value from complex, murky, data sets.· Strong visualisation skills, with an intuitive feel for how to present data to non-expert audiences in a way that drives understanding and the right outcomes.· A robust understanding of the Power BI architecture, and the available approaches to deliver reports securely over a multi-tenant business environment. This is a highly specialised technical and numerate role, where the role holder is expected to act autonomously in defining and delivering appropriate approaches. Additionally, the role holder must be· Confident in delivering through Agile/Scrum as well as traditional waterfall frameworks.· Experienced in the use of Github, or similar code management and collaboration tools.· Cognisant of, and responsive to, requirements to develop and publish reports in line with information security best practice.· Capable of interfacing with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure non-functional requirements, such as performance, scalability, resilience and identity/access management, are effectively delivered in the end-to-end solution.· Familiar with ITIL (change, incident and problem management) and comfortable with delivering in that framework.· Comfortable with being the face of IT - working directly with Operations, Marketing and other business units - taking decisions and being accountable for delivering to them.· Ready to think internationally; is sensitive and responsive to the needs of business units across multiple jurisdictions, often with local issues and priorities.Job OfferAn excellent company to work for, great pension and Benefits. - Up to £50,000- Keynsham- Power BI Developer
