WHAT TO EXPECT :

The battery engineering department is responsible for the design, development and engineering sign off of all batteries both designed inhouse and bought in. The department comprises a matrix organisation of designers, test and validation engineers and programme leaders.

Integration Engineers perform a vital role in the battery engineering design maturation process ensuring that the design team are all working in context and are aligned with programme assumptions. The integration team also provide overall technical reporting for design progress toward virtual builds and test progress as stated in RMDV, along with provision of control and documentation for build instrumentation, build deviation documentation, build process and manufacturing process documentation.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

Responsible for the achievement of battery development
Lead and resolve cross functional issues across departments
Ensure DV requirements and reporting status is maintained up to date for each programme
Escalate and communicate issues and roadblocks for arbitration and suggest solutions within engines, powertrain and vehicle.
Compile and present major gateway status for engine integration and report to Vehicle and Powertrain Teams.
Manage project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation.
Lead design reviews to establish design compatibility across teams .
Support Program Engineers in inputting to AIMS and drive closure in line with vehicle gateways.
Build relationships with all module team members
Track conformance plan and deviation completion requirements against gateways.
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

WHAT YOU'LL NEED :

Essential:
Knowledge of battery and PHEV systems
In depth knowledge of hardware and software battery monitoring requirements and validation on vehicle networks.
Good knowledge of battery cell charging principles
In depth knowledge of powertrain network requirements
Ability to provide strong and clear direction to suppliers
Strong capabilities in problem definition and problem-solving techniques.
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Desirable:
Knowledge of design of software used on battery and hybrid propulsion systems
Familiar with vehicle packaging systems
Good understanding of project management milestones and deliverables
