What to expect

You'll be working within a multi-disciplinary team to lead the delivery of structural accessories, including sourcing and delivery of components/systems for vehicle programmes meeting all defined targets on cost, quality and time. You'll be expected to source commodities to align with programme delivery requirements, commodities will include but are not limited to: towing systems, side steps, undershield protection, and winches. You'll be delivering engineering solutions within programme timescales and within allocated financial budgets, and managing full service suppliers to deliver JLR's performance requirements for all commodities.

In this role, you'll be contributing to ensure delivery of the commodity targets specifically for quality, cost and time, alongside working with and supporting a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate commodity concepts, features and alternatives and develop production releases. Working within a cross functional team ensuring delivery, you'll be developing the team through the engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programs on time, quality and cost.

You'll be meeting operational targets created in the strategy phase, to ensure that they can be delivered robustly alongside building, maintaining and managing relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.

Alongside contributing to the development and optimisation of system component costs, investment, vendor tooling and design and development, you'll be contributing to the overall project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation through:
* Driving the creation and update of the commodity plan(s)
* Ensuring effective commodity/system collaboration and communication
* Monitoring tasks across the life cycle of the project


Also, you'll be developing and delivering the test plan, confirming the availability of parts for all stages, and ensuring cross-functional requirements are integrated in module development, as well as undertaking any other work as directed by your line manager, in connection with your job as may be requested.

What you'll need

It's essential that you hold experience in delivery of systems, including physical and software engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programs, alongside the following skills and experiences:
* Project management
* Coordination of multifunctional teams
* Comprehensive MS office (excel)
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience
* Experience of delivering and developing technical systems
* Sound first principles knowledge of mechanical systems


Alongside the previous experience, it's desirable that you possess a knowledge of automotive bolt on commodities and interactions, an understanding of automotive mechatronic systems, and a knowledge of JLR engineering release processes and change management systems.
