The role:
The successful Engineering Director will take lead and to provide the vision, methodological direction, and leadership to an enthusiastic and dedicated engineering team responsible for the design, development, and upkeep of innovative and world-class market-leading engineering products. This will be covering all aspects of electronics hardware, embedded software/firmware and mechanical engineering development from early R&D and product prototyping through to transfer to manufacture and ongoing product that will empower the organization to increase market share within existing and new markets.
Salary:
The salary on offer for the successful Engineering is £70,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on skillset & experience with a great benefits package included as well (please see below).
Engineering Director Key Skills & Experience:
5-10+ years industry experienceExperience in leading the full product development lifecycle in a lead electronics hardware design, system, or embedded software engineering role.Experience in electronics hardware design, preferably for usage in consumer products - including electronics, Embedded C, Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), secure communications (TLS, Certificate Management)Involvement & experience in electronics hardware design and manufacturingGood understanding and experience of EMC design and testing.Strong track record and good ability in leading and developing strong engineering teams.Detailed knowledge of appropriate engineering standards and their application.Application of suitable Quality Management Systems for engineering product development and accreditation.Management skills - demonstrated leadership, mentoring, workforce development/training and project management experience.Chartered Engineer Status - Huge BonusPrevious experience being an Electronics, Embedded Software, Systems Engineer - Bonus

RTOS - Free RTOS or similarChipset - Espressif EPS32 / TI TM4CInterfaces - Ethernet (wired) and Wi-Fi, GSM, Bluetooth, BLE, WIFI, ZigBeeExperience using AWS IOT MQTT toolsSecure communications using TLS 1.2 and 1.3Experience developing ad-hoc Wi-Fi access points / Wi-Fi extenderKnowledge of ETSI EN 303 645 "Cyber Security for Consumer Internet of Things: Baseline Requirements"Familiar with PAS 1878 / 1879
