We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations.

The role

This role is based in the Technology Division within Technical Operations and will be part of a team providing 24*7 cover through an on-call rota and will be required to provide on-call cover outside of normal working hours. Additional payments will be made for this.

The Senior Systems Administrator will manage the delivery of Technical Services to internal UKHO customers by supporting the UKHO infrastructure; servers, systems, communications and services. Additionally, they will also manage and co-ordinate activities within the team, promoting best practice and ensuring that service targets are achieved.

We are looking for someone that is a team player, self-motivating, with a positive and pro-active approach to the challenges that the post demands. They will need expert technical experience of a wide variety of Server, Storage and Networking technologies at a 3rd line support level. They will also need knowledge of IT security best practice and expert experience of Microsoft Windows Servers 2016, 2019, Microsoft Hyper-V and other Server and infrastructure technologies.

Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies is essential and experience with Microsoft Office 365 technologies including Azure active directory is equally important.
