Project Management LeadRate: £50 - £60 an hour Inside IR35 Umbrella optionsLocation: Cheltenham - Hybrid - limited on-site requirements Duration: 12 monthsYou will be working for a world leader in providing aircraft engines, systems and avionics in the commercial and defence sector.You will be the Lead on a new complex and exciting project, managing schedule, budget and risk and providing leadership and co-ordination to the overall project.Responsibilities Manage, update and maintain the integrated master schedule by communicating with the engineering teamManage, update and maintain the budget by communicating with the engineering teamEnsure budget and schedule are aligned and report out to leadership teamTo integrate, plan and track engineering activities and budget across large, and often complex NPI projects as part of a wider customer-driven program to time, cost and qualityUse industry-established project management practices and techniques for initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control and closure.Use best practice methods for schedule, risk and opportunity management, and active task management to ensure on-time delivery.Actively manage a variety of stakeholders including the customer, the engineering leads and the programme management.Identify ways to continuously improve NPI delivery, reducing inefficiency, cost and schedule where possible.To co-ordinate the overall project.Collecting data from the various project managers across the different sections of the project to produce in depth reports using MS Project and Open Plan to dive into the detail and show the true reality of the schedule and budget. RequirementsA recognised professional qualification in project management, e.g. PMI, APM, Prince2.Experience of schedule, budget and risk management for complex engineering programmes at a Lead level in Aerospace or similar industry.Highly experienced user of project management tools, such as MS Project, Deltek Open Plan.Record of successful delivery of a NPI product within a system engineering life-cycle, including software, hardware, and test systems.Proven track record in planning and monitoring difficult projects, leading and co-ordinating project teams through challenging circumstances.Good interpersonal management skills, both within the project team and upwards to the business.Able to perform under pressure.Strong project leadership and co-ordination skills.Strong planning and scheduling capabilities.
