Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's Urban Design & Building Services team is looking to employ a permanent Senior Lead Engineer. You will be working alongside a creative, innovative, multi-disciplinary and self-motivated team of professionals (Architects, Landscape Architects, Structural Engineers, Property Surveyors, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and associated co-ordination staff).

You will form part of a specialist team managing and delivering all aspects of Structural Engineering requirements for a large multi-site organisation, working on different types of buildings with a broad range of structural forms. Your role will involve interactive and collaborative working with our in-house teams, other local authorities, private sector consultants and delivery partners.

You will be required to provide the service on behalf of Urban Design & Building Services internal and external clients. We offer flexible working hours, to help maintain a good work life balance.

Requirements:

GCSE English or Equivalent.

Must be either a:

Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer.

Registered Architect.

Chartered Architectural Technologist.

Chartered Landscape Architect.

Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer.

Or have a relevant degree with a minimum of 5 years varied and relevant experience (including at least 1- year experience gained since obtaining qualification).

This vacancy is ideal for a suitably qualified person. The minimum requirement for this post is a Chartered membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers, or other appropriate qualification with 5 years significant demonstrable knowledge and experience. The minimum requirements are set out in the Job Description and Personnel Specifications of the post.

Further technical and practical training, where appropriate, will be provided to allow a suitably academically qualified person to become a Chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
