This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (up to two days at home and three days in the office). However, government guidelines will take precedence.

The role

As the Junior IT Business Analyst, you will get to work on putting your analytical and communications skills to good use by working on both small and large scale projects that will support the development and/or delivery of a solution that meets business objectives and enables business benefits to be realised.

Working closely with your fellow IT business analysts and IT projects teams, you'll work with a range of customers to identify and document business processes and requirements, both at a high level and in detail, as well as determining their priority.

Additionally, your responsibilities will include:

collaborating with business stakeholders and evaluating their requests to determine feasibility

completing analysis tasks on IT projects, PowerApps and Minor Changes

eliciting, documenting, validating and prioritising complex business requirements (functional and non-functional) using a range of analysis tools and methods

documenting "as is" and "to be" processes

working collaboratively with the project team throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are understood and delivered

ensuring traceability of requirements from source to delivery

supporting vendor selections as appropriate

managing stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project

What do I need?

To really flourish in this role, you should have some experience of business analysis, specifically:

experience documenting business processes ("as is" and "to be") or business process improvements using Visio

the ability to demonstrate you have good analysis skills

the ability to learn quickly when facing new problems and digest complex business problems with ease

experience documenting business requirements

an understanding and knowledge of the stages of the IT Project lifecycle

an understanding of and experience in waterfall and agile methodologies

experience confidently facilitating workshops or problem solving meetings with several stakeholders

experience in User Acceptance Testing

experience training new users in the use of IT systems

You will also be confident and have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels too. Good working relationships are key to this role, and you will be able to build effective relationships with all your customers and colleagues.

This is a real development opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career and develop into a Business Analyst. We're really keen for someone to come in who is willing to roll up their sleeves up and get stuck in, while also having a passion for learning and developing their skills.
