Mechanical Design Manager Warrington £DOE + Package Huxley Associates and an Engineering Innovator in Advanced Robotics & Automated Machinery are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Manager on a staff basis, owing to the continued growth of the company and to meet current & future project demands for 2022-2023+. Based out of our Warrington Office, the Mechanical Design Manager will be managing a small mechanical design team, working on design solutions for technically complex multi-disciplined projects and taking the lead on managing all aspects of mechanical design on projects. The Mechanical Design Manager will be responsible for providing day to day leadership of the mechanical design team and overall liaison within larger multidiscipline teams and being the technical expert, You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design delivery strategy, taking pro-active control of all design management meetings, protocols and tools used on the project. Excellent technical, organisational, planning and time management skills are required in order to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality. You will have a proactive approach when it comes managing your own workload and that of others in your team. We are looking for someone who values innovation, quality, and reliability and who is not afraid to push the boundaries of technology to ultimately to solve problems and deliver the best technical solution. The Mechanical Design Manager will be responsible for: Providing technical leadership and input from general concept through to final detail design.Challenging and reviewing designs to ensure they provide the best technical solution while meeting customer specifications and expectations.Maintaining up to date, expert knowledge of technical standards and regulations relating to the implementation of machinery and equipment in Europe, the US and ROW.Performing, advising, and checking design calculations to support design activities.Design risk assessments to BS EN ISO 12100-2010 and ensuring designs meet the requirements of any relevant standards in accordance with the Machinery Directive.Ensuring the Design Team, along with the support of programme managers, adhere to the published Design Schedules whilst maintaining the agreed product attributes.Managing the 3D design tools employed by the team and ensuring that the latest technology made available.This technology currently includes augmented reality, Solidworks®, in house 3D printing and PDM Works based repository. Requirements for the Mechanical Design Manager Role:Qualified to Degree level - preferably in Mechanical Engineering, professional status (e.g. C.Eng) or working towardsPrevious experience as a Mechanical Design Manager, managing a team of design engineers.Experience of proof of concept/development work including Prototyping, 3D Print techniques and product development lifecycles.Exceptional communication skills, strong client facing skills as well as strong management and team leading capabilities.Able to develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectationsUnderstanding of machinery regulations and the health and safety aspects of machinery design.Ability to carry out and review engineering calculations to support designs.Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.Willing to travel in UK, Europe and USA.Working to well documented QA processesCommercial appreciation For the successful Mechanical Design Manager, a salary reflective of experience + package is on offer and this Mechanical Design Manager role is commutable from Warrington, Liverpool, Wrexham, Chester, Runcorn, Manchester, Wigan, Northwich, Knutsford, Altrincham and Lymm.
