Job Title: IT Support TechnicianLocation: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE29 6WR, Hybrid workingSalary: £18,000 - £21,000 per annumJob type: Full time, PermanentThe Role:The role of the IT Support person is to support both the IT Infrastructure and Business Intelligence departments. There are a lot of basic cases related to user setup, machine setup and admin being carried out by our experienced specialists, taking them away from the more advanced issues and project work.Key dutiesSupport end users operating in many varied rolesDiagnose and solve hardware/software incidents/problemsActive Directory administration including Office 365 and Azure ADVeeam backup administrationNetwork ManagementInstall, maintain, and support Business ApplicationsInstall and maintain Desktop OSEstablishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Documentation and Policies.Transferring knowledge regarding processes into a standard format that can be used throughout the department.Utilise knowledge and skills from external influences to bring and maintain best practice in the department.Being involved in a wide range of projects from multiple small projects to companywide / large assignments that can vary from software and infrastructure to back or front office IT.Key Requirements:The job holder will be expected to be able to demonstrate the following competencies:Minimum 2 years' experience in IT role.Strong Windows desktop and server support skills.Desktop and server patch management WSUS.Deploying secure compute configuration using Group Policy.Experience managing antivirus/endpoint security products.Significant experience in technical administration roles covering Hardware and Software.Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience.Exposure to backup technologiesInitiativeIdentifying what needs to be done and doing it before being asked or before the situation requires it.Results OrientationThe ability to focus on the desired result of their own or their unit's work, setting challenging goals, focusing effort on goals, and meeting or exceeding them.Personal CredibilityDemonstrated concern that one be perceived as responsible, reliable and trustworthy.Stress ManagementThe ability to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation.FlexibilityOpenness to different and new ways of doing things; willingness to modify one's preferred way of doing things.Education/Experience Requirements:In addition, the following would be required:High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain at different technical levels.To work independently and within a team to complete project deliverables in accordance with timelines.Able to work in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment.Benefits:PensionEnhanced holiday entitlementPrivate Health InsuranceIncome protection and critical illnessLife AssurancePlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with experience of: IT Support 1st Line, 1st Line Technical Support Analyst, 1st Line Helpdesk Engineer, 1st Line Support Engineer, 1st Line Support Technician may also be considered for this role.
