We have an exciting opportunity in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre for someone with a passion for leadership and the delivery of research in manufacturing to make an impact on UK productivity.

As Theme Lead for Digital, you will lead a team of highly skilled software developers and engineers conducting cutting-edge research to apply advanced technology to complex manufacturing challenges. The team are experts in digital manufacturing and you will oversee the development and deployment of the latest digital technologies into manufacturing environments.

Research areas for the team include advanced human machine interfaces, augmented and virtual reality, discrete event simulation and digital twins. Reporting to the Head of Research, you will be responsible for developing opportunities for translational research to solve real manufacturing challenges. Working within IMG's Leadership team, you will build relationships with external partners, secure large research projects and mentor and grow your team to maintain the long-term stability of the group.

You will:

Lead the Digital team within IMG with the aim to expand the team in line with a growing workload.

Develop staff within the Digital team by monitoring training requirements and individual needs.

Manage and deliver framework research programs. Co-ordinate and liaise with industrial collaborators, funding bodies and suppliers.

Manage and drive forwards all Digital themed projects and strategy on the IMG roadmap.
