The DevOps Engineer's primary responsibilities will include deploying, automating, maintaining, and managing the AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a self-starter between 3 - 6 years of DevOps experience, can work independently with minimal supervision and has a background in software development.Client DetailsMy client provides preeminent and actionable commercial real estate research, news, data, analytics, and advisory services in the U.S. and Europe.DescriptionThe technology team is a small group of passionate technologists who are actively looking for a DevOps engineer who is interested in creating a scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure supporting internal and client facing applications. From configuring Linux servers, to automating code deployments, I am looking for someone who is comfortable with the technical nitty gritty, as well as working in a highly collaborative environment.The DevOps Engineer's primary responsibilities will include deploying, automating, maintaining, and managing the AWS infrastructure. My client is on an exciting journey where they are are now investing in a new technology team in the UK and this will be the very first hire part of their long term strategy. A break down of the day to day responsibilities are below.Day-to-day setup and support of AWS environments, applications, and processesClosely collaborate with development, data, and QA teams to implement best practices and automation, with operability in mindExplore and evaluate new technologies contributing to systems design and deployment of new products/releasesDevelop tools to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor application stacks and critical infrastructureEnsure high reliability and performance of application infrastructureThere is a mixture of Transformation / Automation projects in 2022.ProfileYou will be an experienced DevOps engineer who has exposure to various different tech stacks and has completed multiple transformation / Automation projects. You will be a self starter who can work on their own and make critical business decisions when required. You should be familiar with the following;Demonstrated command of AWS technologies in multiple areas: compute, network, storage, database, security, application monitoring and spend monitoringDemonstrated programming skills in pythonExperience with automated infrastructure provisioning (e.g., Terraform) is preferred as well as configuration management technology (e.g. Ansible)Ability to independently solve problems and build robust solutions and enjoy working with minimal supervision within an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environmentAbility to mentor the development team and evangelize DevOps culture and practicesDeep Linux systems knowledge inclusive of Linux networking and OS patching. Experience with Linux security is a plusDatabase (relational or non-relational) experience a plusExperience working in a multi-account AWS environment a plusAWS disaster recovery design and deployment across regions a plusExperience with containers (Docker), registries and related orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Helm charts) is a huge plus. Requirements:3 - 6 years of DevOps experienceCertified on at least one Associate-level and above AWS certificationExperience working with AWS in production SaaS environmentsStrong troubleshooting skills spanning code, systems, security, and networkingExcellent communication skillsWillingness and desire to keep up with new cloud technologies, standards, practices.Job OfferA permanent opportunity With a salary bracket of £75,000 - £90,000 per year plus 10% yearly bonus based on targets being achieved.
