Our reward package
We're hiring for two Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineers based in Exeter HQ with hybrid remote working.
Your total reward package is potentially worth up to £46536.00 annually, which includes basic salary, RRA, potential corporate bonus and employer pension contributions.
As our Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer, your starting salary will be £30932.00 and you will have opportunities to progress to £33925.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band minima.
You will receive a Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £2500.00 per annum paid quarterly, pro-rated from the date of taking up the appointment This role will qualify for an RRA allowance from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2024

Job Purpose
As our Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer , you will join our Technology Digital Workplace team and the key duties are:
Supporting our IT Helpdesk function by providing third-line support for incidents, problems and changes for our supported systems, applications, and services
Methodically troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Install new and maintain existing technologies and solutions according to organisational policies, industry best practices, standards, and service requirements
Support the delivery of our planned projects and business as usual activities
The ability to work independently, and collaboratively with others in a team environment
Support and mentor Engineers to develop their skills and knowledge so that they increase their capability to deliver improved service to our 2500+ colleagues
We operate an on-call roster in Technology to provide 24/7/365 support to respond to operational service requirements. This post may be part of an on-call roster and the postholder would be required to participate in an on-call roster where in operation.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Extensive experience and technical knowledge of:
Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, roles, role services, and features, specifically: Active Directory Domain/Certificate Services, Group Policy Management, DNS, Remote Access, Remote Desktop Services
Microsoft Exchange Server hybrid deployment
Windows 10
Configuration Manager
Experience and technical knowledge of:
endpoint management solutions to deploy updates and applications
secure configuration
PowerShell to automate processes and remotely administer and troubleshoot endpoints
Technical knowledge and awareness of cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 Enterprise:
Microsoft Teams, Voice - Teams Phone and PSTN connectivity
Threat Protection, Defender for Endpoint/Identity/Office 365
SharePoint, Azure Active Directory, Endpoint Manager, Information Protection, Compliance Management
Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Technical knowledge and awareness of managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server, a current qualification or the willingness to learn and follow the Microsoft Certified pathway, supported with training
