Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. We are playing a vital part in accelerating the transition to Net Zero and a carbon neutral energy system - a goal that everyone wants to achieve. Whatever your role, you'll be playing your part in creating new energy solutions that are great for customers, and great for the environment.

We offer a diverse range of flexible working career opportunities: roles that are stimulating and rewarding, where you can get involved in ground-breaking work. And it's important to us that we recruit from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds - bringing different perspectives and experiences to our work.
As a Data Business Analyst you'll play a pivotal role as the interface between our data sources and service users who want to draw on new datasets and data pipelines to support and inform their work. You'll work closely with colleagues to accurately define their needs and then work with Architects and Data Engineers to convert these into scoped and carefully specified requirements - agreeing the end-to-end approach to data product handling. You'll be an expert facilitator who can bring about good quality exchanges of knowledge, maximise data availability and reliability and identify, mitigate and assure governance concerns, such as security, privacy and compliance obligations.

You should already have practical experience of data analysis, synthesis and modelling and be able to quickly familiarise yourself with the portfolio of data journey products that the team are servicing. Your structured approach to problem solving will enable you to produce scalable and flexible solutions and a readiness to challenge current practice and to ask searching questions will mean you will play your part in supporting continuous improvement. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be vital in establishing positive partnerships with colleagues, and it's important that you can adapt your approach to different audiences - especially when working on complex subject matter.

Ofgem is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of open and fair competition, merit and business need.
