Are you experienced in IoT and Cloud technologies? Have you worked in an enterprise environment? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Information Technology department as a IoT Technical Architect!

If you are keen on finding an IoT/Cloud based role where you have the opportunity to create and shape the future of the companies IoT technology set up, then this will be a great opportunity for you!

This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (up to two days at home and three days in the office). However, government guidelines will take precedence.

The role

As the IoT Technical Architect, you will provide technical leadership for IoT systems infrastructure and tools, including telemetry systems and their integration into IoT cloud solutions.

Using your knowledge of the product and the business, you will be underpinning the defined strategy to maximise value to Wessex Water. The role holder will be pivotal to the success of the IoT competency centre, contributing to stakeholder approval, forming relationships and structures, and driving change and efficiency gains.

Although this is a Technical Architect role, you can expect to be hands on coding, as well as coaching, mentoring and developing team members, so that they can grow and take on more complex IoT tasks.

Day-to-day activities in this role will include the likes of providing technical guidance and expertise, working with the architecture team to ensure compliance to architectural principles and delivering results to make the competency centre a success.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive knowledge of IoT, Cloud and Software Development technologies.

You will be experienced in developing an enterprise-scale IoT solutions, preferably on Azure IoT or AWS, along with experience in application architecture, database architecture, and networking is essential.

Experience with the complete software development lifecycle and hands-on development experience in either C#, Python, Java, JavaScript or C++ is beneficial as these are technologies that we work with.

You will also have a keen interest in IoT connectivity and the benefits it can bring to the Wessex Water Group. You will be customer focused, able to work unsupervised and efficient in organising and planning your workload to meet project needs.
