Flexible Homeworking Options Available About the role We are currently looking to expand our Guidewire BillingCenter Team based in Stratford-Upon-Avon (with up to 50% homeworking). As a result, we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and analytical Senior Developer to add further talent to the IT delivery teams within our Guidewire Centre of Excellence.
You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile development team that is moving towards a fully-fledged DevOps culture with processes and tooling to drive efficiencies and innovation.
The Senior Developer provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career and play a role in the development and support of the Group's future General Insurance solutions.

Duties will include: Review, analyse and evaluate IT system requirements in collaboration with IT Business Analysts, IT Solution Designers and business stakeholders. Consult and advise stakeholders on new business initiatives requiring IT solutions Configure, develop, unit test, integrate and lead complex/large technical code changes Support system and user acceptance test processes and systems implementation tasks. Document and direct the handover of software into business-as-usual (BAU) operation. Coordinate, investigate, diagnose and the resolve live technical incidents and system problems Evaluate and interpret end-to-end technical system designs and recommend changes to infrastructure, applications, and/or products. Maintain and build effective relationships with internal/external teams and stakeholders Research, understand and apply new technical tools, processes and technical developments Coach and mentor team members and colleagues on their technical skills About you You will be an experienced Senior Developer who is pro-active, creative and analytical. You'll have a genuine desire to achieve excellent customer service, you'll take ownership and responsibility for your projects/actions and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Alongside this, you will have: Experience and ability to contribute to technical discussions on how best to model a solution. Knowledge of best practice in development and the ability to articulate reasons for adopting a particular design decision. Strong experience of IT software development and methodologies. Excellent knowledge of Java or Object-Oriented programming. Experience of Gosu scripting. Strong knowledge of the Guidewire ClaimCenter / BillingCenter product. Strong SQL skills. The ability to work with all levels of the organisation to understand their goals and issues. The ability to adapt in an Agile development environment. Flexibility to work in varied environments and with varied responsibilities depending on projects. Good interpersonal skills with clear, concise communication skills; both written and verbal. ITIL awareness

Qualifications An Information Technology related degree, or equivalent industry experience Candidates will have to work some weekends and out of hours, on a rota basis.
