Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Front End Developer (ReactJS) for a 6 Month contract based remotely.

Purpose of the Role:

Working as part of a new engineering squad, you will be enhancing an internal mortgage back-office tool

This will involve two main phases; uplifting the existing legacy solution to comply with current industry standards and developing the next iteration of the tool in line with stakeholder requirements.

As a Front End Developer (ReactJS) you will be responsible for:

The existing web-based tool needs bringing up to date in several areas (package updates, vulnerability fixes, regression tests etc). With little formal documentation, you'll be relying on your "developer's instinct" to understand and unpick how it works.

With that baseline in place, we're then looking to start afresh. Building the next iteration based on current business needs and technical direction. Your team will be actively contributing towards the solution design and implementation of elements such as; the look-and-feel, SSO integration, CI/CD, extensibility, test automation, rollout etc.

What we require from the candidate:

3+ years experience with ReactJS

Hands-on knowledge of developing modern SPAs (including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) with either SQL/NoSQL data persistence

Familiar with industry best-practice and testing principles such as TDD/FDD/BDD

Desirable but not essential:

Experience with cloud-hosted containerised environments utilising Docker/Kubernetes (hosted in AWS)

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
