Remote Software developer - PHP, Python, Javascript

A small software development consultancy require a software developer to work on varied client projects, predominantly browser based applications.

At the moment the work is 100% remote, but the candidate will be expected to meet face to face from time to time in a local co-working space, probably in Leigh.

Ability and aptitude are viewed as far more important than experience. For example, the employer is happy to take on someone with a recent technical academic qualification.

The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of databases and SQL, some knowledge of HTML+javascript and how a web page works, and knowledge of a server side programming language such as C#, PHP or Python. This knowledge may have been gained through academic study, work experience, or through hobbyist projects.

The candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability through examples of their code. These can be academic projects, hobby projects etc. If none can be provided then a short sample exercise can be provided to complete.

The projects themselves are predominantly relatively new projects built in PHP Laravel and Vue.js . However, the consultancy will take on projects in any technology and so employees will be constantly supported and encouraged to broaden their knowledge and skillset.

The role offers the ability to work alongside a highly experienced industry professional with a pragmatic attitude and a "light touch" management style. The candidate would be working in the early growth stages of what could be a successful software business.
