You will be pivotal on their journey for self-service reporting, building reports as per business requirements; review reports built in Power BI by business teams and build / manage datasets in Power BI for business consumption.Client DetailsLeading Housing AssociationDescriptionReporting into the Director of Data, this leading Housing Association are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer / Analyst to design data solutions that deliver value and insight across the business. You will be pivotal on their journey for self-service reporting, building reports as per business requirements; review reports built in Power BI by business teams and build / manage datasets in Power BI for business consumption.Key responsibilities:Supporting the data team's ownership of the Power BI platform, by building and maintaining, workspaces, dashboards, datasets and reports as required by the business.Manage and deliver high quality training and guidance on Power BI, by providing functional and technical guidance across the business, ensuring the roll-out of self-service reporting, acting as a champion on promoted datasets across the business and supporting the insights-driven decision-making strategy.Manage the design and delivery of BI reporting and analysis projects, following agreed design methodologies (SDLC), whilst acting as a liaison with the business to meet their stakeholder objectives, identify efficiencies and keep up to date with the latest developments and latest trends in Business Intelligence.Providing peer reviews on colleagues work providing constructive guidance where needed ensuring high quality reporting is delivered to the end users, feeding back numerical output, results, and recommendations where needed.Collaborating with Data Engineers and Data Scientists and business subject matter experts during the adoption a cloud-based data platform (Azure), ensuring datasets meet stakeholder expectations.Keep the organisation's data dictionary up to date, ensuring the data platform, datasets and subsequent reports are accurate.Key Skills / Experience:Essential:Building Power BI datasets from specific data sources - mainly SQL, DAX, MDXUtilising Power BI Apps to present dashboards and reportsData Modelling SkillsStandardising reports across a businessPower BI Premium features such as dataflows and lifecycle managementGathering and interpreting stakeholder requirementsTraining users with basic skills in Power BIExcellent communication, influencing and persuading skills at all levels with an open, honest and inclusive communication style.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.Manage/maintain codebase of Power BI reportsWork within a fast-paced agile environment, with ever-changing needs.Desirable:Machine Learning Python or RMicrosoft Azure Data Technologies; e.g. Azure SQL Server or SynapseBuilding Power BI datasets from a multitude of data sources (i.e. Power Query, Google Analytics)Experience working in a rapidly evolving agile environmentExperience with Streaming data from AzureExperience configuring Power BI Gateways, permissions and DatasetsExperience as a Power BI Administrator maintaining the tenant preferencesExperience with financial reportingA mathematical background with a degree in a related fieldBackground in the Housing sector ProfileKey Skills / Experience: Essential: Building Power BI datasets from specific data sources - mainly SQL, DAX, MDXUtilising Power BI Apps to present dashboards and reportsData Modelling SkillsStandardising reports across a businessPower BI Premium features such as dataflows and lifecycle managementGathering and interpreting stakeholder requirementsTraining users with basic skills in Power BIExcellent communication, influencing and persuading skills at all levels with an open, honest and inclusive communication style.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.Manage/maintain codebase of Power BI reportsWork within a fast-paced agile environment, with ever-changing needs.
