The role of a Network Implementation Engineer is to interpret a customer request and then transform that request into a successful project. This includes project management, pre-sales, customer service, solution design, implementation and technical support. Client DetailsYou will be working for a national telecoms organisation, responsible for end to end design and implementation of projects, working for key clients within the financial sector.DescriptionNetwork Implementation Engineer - Telecoms You'll have the following responsibilitiesImplementation:Determining implementation time frames and risksSubmission and tracking of Change Management tickets for implementationCoordinating the installation of equipment and connections with Move/Add/Change teamTesting of network connectivity post implementationsEnsuring Compliance of all Changes with Client standardsEnsure proper Closeout of project and move-to-production process is adhered toTravel to various customer sites within the EMEA region is required at times.General Support:Provide Tier 3 Technical Support during major incidents and troubleshooting assistance for complex long-term issues impacting network performanceProvide Technical consultation as requested by the customerOther:The preferred candidate should have worked in a large enterprise managed service environment preferably in the financial industry or have similar experience with the banking sector.ProfileNetwork Implementation Engineer - Telecoms You'll have the following skills & experienceThe job holder should have strong skills in networking. The job holder will need a broad skill set, coupled with the confidence and technical ability to consult at many levels. Specifically, the experience should cover the following areas:The preferred candidate should be competent in or have exposure to solution design and implementation in the following technologies:In depth understanding of all key technologies in Data Networks including traditional WAN and SD WAN and knowledge of Cisco products including Cisco's SD WAN (Viptela) technologyWAN protocols: MPLS, Metro Ethernet, SDWANExperience in Cisco products is essential (e.g. ISR G3, ASR 1000, vEdge 2000/5000)Cisco Routing and Switching (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Ether channel, MulticastVPN: IPSEC and DMVPNQOS: Class and Quality of service configurationsStrong understanding of TCP/IP and other Network protocols (SNMP, FTP, TFTP, HTTP/S, SSH, IPSLA.)Riverbed Acceleration and Optimization SolutionFamiliar with Niksun, Wireshark and other packet capturing utilities and interpreting packet capturesFamiliar with Log Management tools (Syslog, Splunk)Familiar with Service Now for Change Management Requirements: Degree in IT (Networks or Telecommunication preferred)Extensive experience in an Enterprise Network environmentExperience in the financial industry preferred Technical/Business skills & KnowledgeThe jobholder must be skilled in fault finding and analysis for the technologies mentioned above. They would also need good communication and interpersonal skills in order to successfully deal with senior users. Project management skills will be required as the jobholder will be responsible for proactive improvement projects within the operation teams.
