The Senior IT Technician based near St. Austell reporting to the Support Centre Team Leader. Contribute to the smooth operation, focusing on IT Support and CISCO network. Planning, configuring, installing, maintaining network hardware, software and communication links whilst ensuring minimal network downtime occurs. Diagnosis, resolving and documenting hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, providing end users with assistance.Client DetailsOur client is a world leader in Manufacturing and Production, o?ering high value-added solutions to many di?erent industries, ranging from process manufacturing to consumer goods.DescriptionThe Senior IT technician will build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic tools, as well as require that the individual give remote assistance at the desktop level.Mentor and provide support and assistance to the Service Technicians and third Parties.Maintain the integrity of the hardware and software asset database. Auditing and resolving any inconsistency software licensing records.You will work closely with the Infrastructure "Core-Team" and be involved in new projects, root cause analysis, including but not limited to - Investigation, Solution Design, Testing and eventual roll-out.Coordinate and/or perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, file backups and restores, and configuring systems and applications.Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved, perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests. Administer Corporate IT Domain accounts, security access control, e-mail, VPN, Internet access and the ERP systems.Track and analyse trends in Help Desk requests and generate statistical reports, develop and publish help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists for end users.Evaluate documented resolutions in order to identify trends, to prevent future problems. Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved and develop and publish onto intranet FAQ's for end users.Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.Integrity of the hardware and software asset database. Practice network asset management, including auditing to resolve any inconsistency in the groups software licensing records.Collaborate with the Infrastructure Technical team - Supporting the development and implementation of optimal networking design topology and configurations. Project and new technology installations and eventual roll-out.Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair.This position will require some travelling within Europe and will require flexibility in working hours with the additional requirement to provide additional 'out of hour's support on a rotational basis. Some extended hours / flexible working to meet deadlines, often at short notice.ProfileThe Senior IT Technician will have:Proven track record working as an field IT Engineer Technical knowledge of AD networking, protocols, firewall management, antivirus, operating system configuration.Good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.Understanding of connectivity solutions, imaging Software, deployment tools, Anti-Virus Tools and Data Backup solutions.This Role has an element of IT budget and financial control responsibilitiesProven track record of supporting and leading an IT support function (Not direct Management)Full driving licence & live local to St. AustellJob OfferHours Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Salary of £25,000 On call rota is 1 out of 5 / 6 weeks (£1,000 per annum)Fantastic team culture, working for a large global business who offer on-going training and progressionGreat all round benefits package
