We have an opportunity for an experienced D&A professional to join us within our multi-disciplinary D&A Delivery Teams at an exciting time as we continue to grow and develop our data strategy.

Working within our multi-disciplinary D&A Delivery Teams ("Crews") in collaboration with the business and Data & Analytics colleagues you develop and construct data products and services and integrate them into systems and business processes. You support the design and implementation of data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence systems.

Please note this role is based remotely within the UK, with occasional travel to our Cornwall head offices.

You'll help us by:

Communicating between technical and non-technical stakeholders

Providing data profiling and source system analysis, presenting insights to colleagues to support the end use of data

Designing, building and testing data products and data integration services, including the data warehouse

Translating and integrating business requirements into the analytics architecture by working closely with Data & Analytics colleagues and the business

Developing ETL scripts and routines to facilitate movement of data across the business' full analytics architecture. Designing and implementing ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and external sources, ensuring data exceptions/rejections are identified

Delivering appropriate technologies to deliver resilient, scalable and future-proofed data solutions, following guidance on good practice analytics architecture development and design

Producing and updating data models, applying industry recognised patterns and standards

Working with metadata repositories

Responding to and resolving problems in databases, data processes, data products and services as they occur

Creating and maintaining appropriate levels of documentation to enable knowledge share and future support of products created

Testing outputs and products to the appropriate quality level and where possible create automated, repeatable tests

Working with other data teams to understand our standards and best practice guidelines and provide inputs to enable their continuous improvement

Defining and using agreed standards and tools to design, code, test, correct and document simple and medium level programs and scripts

Providing end user support and training for the data products that your team creates

Continuously developing yourself and your team

Being able to work out of hours when required to suit the needs of the business

The skills you'll be sharing with the team:

With strong experience in data analysis, modelling, engineering and development processes, you'll have a track record of designing, developing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions using SQL, SSAS and SSIS. Previous time spent developing and maintaining SQL Server database code and ETL is a given, as is knowledge of self-serve BI tools.

A logical thinker with an eye for detail, you'll have excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills. You will have awareness of agile techniques and metadata management. You'll be a flexible and proactive person, able to organise own work and work with end users to identify solutions to identify solutions and optimise processes.

Experience in development with cloud hosted data/integration architectures on Microsoft Azure, including Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Azure Data Factory/Synapse Pipelines, Tabular SSAS, Power BI datasets is desirable but not essential.
