The Optical Engineer is required for a start-up company in London, UK working on cutting edge optical instrumentation for non-invasive imaging. The role will be designing the next generation of optical hardware include miniaturisation, capturing requirements, new product design and system improvements. The Senior Optical Engineer will understand Free Space Optics, Microscopy, Spectroscopy, Optical Lens selection, Optical Simulation in Zemax, and Measurement techniques. Experience with fNIRS is a huge plus. The key skills of the Optical Engineer will include: PhD in Photonics / OpticsZemax for optical simulation
Microscopy / Spectroscopy for Biomedical applications
Free Space Optics
Experimental setups The ideal candidate will have proven experience with fNIRS, functional near-infrared spectroscopy, for biomedical applications, non-invasive imaging, and knowledge of instrument algorithms and calibration for medical tissue differentiation.
