In so doing, they seek to make a positive, sustainable contribution to both the UK economy and society.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Business Analyst (ESG and Risk) for a 6 month contract based 50% remote and 50% from London.Purpose of the Role:RISK ESG is currently looking for an ESG analyst to support 2nd line of defence activities and contribute to the review of climate risk models. The London-based assignment is expected to be 6-months' long and may be renewed based on an assessment of priorities mid-way through 2022. The overarching responsibility of the team consists in the evaluation and review of portfolio alignment climate models rolled out to meet the bank's commitment to reach net zero by 2050 (refer to the NZBA guidelines for further background information), thereby verifying the overall soundness of the chosen approach and ensuring models are implemented properly (having regard to : model data inputs, parameters, design and methodology, implementation and model documentation).As a Business Analyst (ESG and Risk) you will be responsible for:Liaising with the 1st line of defence ( CIB, Group CSR) to develop an understanding of the model implementation Depending on model characteristics or features (e.g. the model under consideration applies to a specific sector or the model change pertains to a specific component, e.g. scenario analysis), liaising with RISK stakeholders to discuss and challenge critical aspects of model implementation ;Contributing to the design / development / implementation and subsequent industrialisation of tools / analyses aimed at supporting the review (data inputs, underlying assumptions, outputs, etc.) ;Proposing and performing ad-hoc analyses to challenge assumptions made by the 1st line of defence (e.g. evaluate data quality of inputs by benchmarking against alternative sources) ;Evaluating model outputs with a view to identify, understand and document potential model limitations ;Assessing the robustness of the target framework (e.g. data quality controls, permanent control framework, etc.) ;Presenting findings to management in the presence of model participant and articulate conclusions reached for the model validation review.In his / her role, the analyst will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of climate risk management topics and the manner in which these are handled. As part of the review, the analyst will also be expected to interact with various interlocutors involved in the model life cycle (CIB, Group CSR, Risk Management teams, etc.). What we require from the candidate:* A previous experience in audit or model review strongly preferred

* Attention to details, and strong analytical skills are essential

* Proven technical background (coding) and manipulation of large data sets are also a must (Excel, R, Python)

* Good communication skills both oral and written are essential

* Degree in a quantitative or financial field (physics, mathematics, IT, etc.) would be preferable

* An awareness of and strong interest in ESG topics (e.g. climate risk)

* Ability to work as part of a team.
